Piaggio Aero Company, like all other private jet manufacturers, announced their goals for the Piaggio P-180 before they started building it. Their goal was to manufacture a light private jet that could fly at more than 40,000 feet, with a 2,000 mile range, a cruising speed of 400 knots, and would also remain fuel-efficient and comfortable. Piaggio proved to be truly innovative by achieving all of these goals while no other company has been able to create a jet that meets the same specifications.
